hmmmmmm...... now to the artist statement
Whoever came up with the idea of putting out a formal artist statement?? Who does it serve? The person who looks at my art? I'd rather that you, the viewer, take the extra time looking. Does it serve the artist? Well, it does not serve me - what a bore to confine what I'm painting to a few paragraphs of linear explanation/interpretation.
I paint - I must paint - painting is like breathing to me, and it is never the same from one moment to the next. I tell stories from the inside with my art and hope you will want to "read" my painted stories. I am a writer. I am a musician. I am a thinker. I am a scholar. I am more than the sum of these parts. Above all, I am an artist in body, mind and soul.
Sorry - no formal artist statement from this artist.
BUT:
I'm glad to share the process. I'm glad to share milestones. I'm glad to share influences. I'm glad to share inspirations. I'm glad to share hurdles and triumphes. I'm glad to share my world.
SO:
Here's an invitation to browse through this site.
The "Gallery" link takes you to images of my art. There is also a page with "Purchase Information" so you know how to buy my art.
"They Say" contains quotes from people that inspire me and make me think. Go to "Who Are They" for more information about them.
"Links" is just that: links to places on the web that I like and visit often. Some but not all are art related. Check them out. I'll add new ones regularly.
There's a guestbook where you can talk to me and be part of the process. Tell me what you think about what you see here. Ask a question. Say Hello.
Enjoy the ride!

May 2009 - at a local outdoor art show in Mountain Center, Ca, at about 5500'
